On this site you will find information about the application procedure and the admission requirements. Please read all the information carefully to ensure a successful application.
The master course “Stem Cell Biology” only starts in the winter semester!
Application and Admission
The Master’s programme “Stem Cell Biology” is designed for a small group of exceptionally qualified and highly motivated students each year.
Applications must be submitted via the online application portal of Ruhr University Bochum.
The application portal opens in early June and closes on 15 July each year.
For applicants from Germany and the EU, as well as applicants holding a German or EU Bachelor’s degree, the application deadline is extended until 15 September.
The online portal will guide you through the application process step by step.
During the application process, you will be asked to upload the following documents:
- Transcript of Records
- Bachelor’s degree certificate (optional)
- Language certificate
- Passport or identity card
- Diploma Supplement (optional)
- Completed application form
- Additional documents (optional)
Please download the application form and complete it electronically. Once completed, save the form as a PDF file and upload it to the online application portal.

Following a successful review of your application documents, you will be invited to an online-interview via Zoom; in case of a positive outcome, you will be accepted to the degree program.
